About Us - Bayside Harmony Chorus
About Us - Bayside Harmony Chorus
On July 23, 1990 a half dozen ladies met in director Stella Kelly's home; from this meeting Bayside Harmony was born. In December of the same year they secured a rehearsal hall and began building the Chorus in earnest. Through the use of flyers, open houses, singing in malls and for groups in their Burlington, Ontario community their numbers soon grew. In February 1994 they became members of Sweet Adeline's International.

In April 1994 the chorus, in their very first trip to regional competition, with 23 ladies on stage won First Place Small Chorus and placed 11th out of 27 choruses. In addition Director Stella Kelly won the Novice Director Award. The next year they competed with 36 singers placing 8th out of 23 choruses and winning First Place Small chorus for a second time in a row! In 1996 they became a Large Chorus competing with 48 singers and improved once again placing 5th overall.

As a result of their win in 1995 Bayside Harmony qualified to represent Region 16 in a World Festival and Seminar in St. Louis, Missouri in July 1996. There they had the thrill of singing with choruses from all over North America as well as Britain, New Zealand and Finland.

Bayside Harmony has sung in many community charity events including a local television station's Mother's Day Telethon to raise funds for the sick kids of Chedoke McMaster Hospital in Hamilton. They truly would love to provide "Music From The Heart" for your special event or celebration.
